can you explain what shakespeare is trying to say?

if by your art my dearest father you have put the wild waters in this roar, allay them; the sky it seems would pour down stinking pitch, but that the sea, mounting to th’ welkin’s cheek, dashes fire out. oh! i have sufferedwith those that i saw suffer: a brave vessel (who had no doubt some nobel creature in her) dashed all to peices: O the cry did knock against my very heart: pour souls, they perish’d. if i had been a god of any power i would have sunk the sea within the earth, or ere it would have been a good ship so have swallow’d, and the fraughting souls within her.

what does this all mean in modurn day english? (<—- if you know what i mean?)

also what emotions would you be feeling?

thanks
