Is it okay to wash jeans in your sink instead of the washer?

p>Our electricity is out the next few hours (My laptop is on battery) and I really need to wash the jeans I want to wear tomorrow. Can I just wash them in the sink with the detergent? How much do I put in? Can they really get clean that way?
